Excellent News: 4/11/09

Mariko got spend two hours with Brandon today - the best two hours she has had in a long time.
- Thank you, Nurse Mavis!

She met with the doctors and was shown an x-ray of his chest; the hole in his lung does not appear on the x-rays which means it has healed or is healing rapidly.

The doctors took him off the medication that controls his blood pressure. Meanwhile, his brain shows no signs of further swelling and his stitches and areas of other swelling are much improved.

When they take him out of the coma around Tuesday, they will probably take him off of the respirator.

Mariko had a chance to look at his body today and his abdomen is almost cut-free and bruise-free.

He is doing well. Your positive thoughts and prayers have surely come to Brandon's rescue.

All Our Love and Thanks,

Spoke too Soon Update

There was a miscommunication this morning, so this post is provide an update and correct some misinformation from the previous post.

The nurses tried four times to put the feeding tube in; however, the swelling in his throat made that impossible. Despite this minor setback, Brandon is still stable and critical.

He looks much better than he did yesterday - he's a swollen and beat-up Brandon, but now he looks like Brandon.

Gratefully,
Mariko, Logan, and the entire Rowe Clan

Brandon's Condition: Update 4/10/09

Friends and Family,

Brandon is in stable but critical condition. We, the doctors, the nurses, and Brandon are in a holding pattern at the moment so that the medical staff can track his head trauma.

They were able to put a feeding tube in today. This is good news - it means his stomach is no longer filled with blood and that he is able to metabolize food.

We appreciate all of the love, support, and prayers that have been offered to our family. Thank you for your concern and caring.

To the medical staff at McKay Dee hospital, thank you for your diligence, kindness, compassion, and professionalism.

Many Thanks,
Mariko and Logan, and the rest of the Rowe Family
